Hello Lily Bee Fans! We are super excited to begin this months challenge with a brand new sketch. This months sketch challenge is pretty simple and can inspire you to use geometric shapes on your scrapbook pages. With this weeks focus on being stars and stripes, Leslie and I went with a non-theme approach with our creations and hope they inspire you to do the same.
Supplies: Sweet Shoppe (Chipboard Stickers, Chit Chat Stickers, Circle & Tag Stickers, Letter Stickers) + Pinwheel (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Embellishment Bundle, Label Stickers, Letter Stickers, Jump Rope Paper) + Destination (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Circle & Tag Stickers, Interstate Paper)
Leslie says, "This sketch was SO up my alley! I’ve been wanting to try triangles in some way on a layout & I got my wish! How fun are these triangles. I LOVE the geometric feel. Reminds me of being whimsical – kind of like my crazy kids in this photo. Note to self: Big Kids HATE props."
"I turned my sketch sideways & used all the elements, just at a different angle. So fun to do, so easy & again...LOVE the triangles!"
Aren't her kids great?! I sure hope mine will cooperate with me when they are at that age.
My layout, So Handsome, keeps with the sketch design to tell my story and replaced the one photo block at the right with a journaling block instead.
Supplies: Destination (Postcard, 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Label Stickers, Chipboard Stickers, Embellishment Bundle, Circle & Tag Stickers, Chit Chat Stickers, Letter Stickers) + Sweet Shoppe (Chit Chat Stickers) + Pinwheel (Embellishment Bundle)
I too love triangles and couldn't resist not using them on my page. I mixed the same zig-zag patterns by using both the large (12x12) and small (6x6) papers. The small patterned triangles really do add a nice subtle pop off the page atop the large background.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. We would love to have you join us in this months layout sketch challenge! We will pick one winner from all our challenge entries this month to win a Lily Bee prize package. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Your layout must use mainly Lily Bee products (approx. 50% - 60% older or newer lines to showcase Lily Bee Design).
- Post your layout to our Facebook Page or Flickr Gallery to be eligible for monthly challenge prize.
- Title your post "7/2 Sketch Challenge" so we can find it easily and then leave a comment on this blog post letting us know you've entered.
- Deadline is July 31, 2013, Midnight CST
- One winner from all the challenges will be announced in next month's Kristen's News feature.
Don't forget, you can enter multiple times! The more you play, the better your chances of winning! :)
Happy creating and good luck :)
