Welcome to our Focus on Monday post today where we introduce and start off the theme of the week with a variety of projects.
This week's theme is "Thanksgiving/Thankful." I feel like we were just in Summer, and now Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away! Besides getting ready for the holidays, it is such a great time to remember what you are thankful for and remember and preserve traditions.
Stacey Michaud is joining me today to share a Thanksgiving tradition.
Stacey says, "Each Thanksgiving morning begins with the celebratory tradition of deep frying turkeys. All of my husband's buddies show up and proceed to prep, fry and eat. We have been hosting this event for over 10 years and it has become our favorite part. I created a grid of sorts, which always helps me when scrapping with multiple photos. I love the "Yum" journaling index card as it matches the theme perfectly. I added many of the patterns of Autumn spice in small doses."
I love the way Stacey has made her title with the small alpha letters mixed with larger ones. And she framed her layout beautifully with the hexagons on the top and bottom in an asymmetrical way to bring interest.
Supplies: Autumn Spice: (Papers, Clear Stamps, Index Journal Card, ABC Cardstock Stickers,Cardstock Stickers)
Stacey and I both used grids this week for lots of photos. For my layout, I went with the Thankful theme, using several Instagrammed photos, then making a list of why I am thankful for each photo. And if you notice, I also did a 2-page layout with each page being an 8 1/2 x 11. 2-pages can give you more room for photos and/or photos that are a little larger.
I used all of the stamps from all three collections, stamping on vellum, embossing, making a cluster of stamps, and using the numbers from Christmas Cheer for my Thankful list.
Most of my 2-page layouts start out on the computer with the design, so I typed and printed my journaling. And even with printing, you can still make mistakes as I did in No. 2, but I left it. Learning to let go of perfection is a really good thing when creating.

Thank you so much for joining me and Stacey today!

To be a fashion-forward bride, you can also introduce some vibrant hues to spice up this magic trumpet gown in sweet cream shades.
