Happy Monday everyone! And if you are in the United States and Canada, a very happy Labor Day to you!
Today, it's Amy here along with extraordinarily talented Anna-Maria to bring you this week's sketch challenge.
Please note: We've modified things for each month's challenges slightly. All monthly challenges will be due on the last day of each month by Midnight Mountain time. Kristen's posts will now take place the first Friday of each month going forward and she will announce the winners for each the Sketch Challenge and the Designers' Choice challenge for the previous month at that time. Hopefully, this new routine will make it much more clear to everyone involved! :)
This week I had the pleasure of creating a sketch for our challenge. I created a compartmentalized sunburst, but then went on to create the addition of more sunburst action of the left of the sketch. Here's a look at my take on the sketch.
For my page, I stuck very closely to the sketch with the addition of a second photo. For my papers, I decided to mix up the latest from Autumn Spice along with Persnickety for this not-quite Autumn page. The photo was taken at the end of June, but my son was wearing this bright orange t-shirt, so I thought that these collections would work perfectly for a more everyday take on these fall inspired collections.
For my title, I used the ABC Alphabet stickers along with using my die cutting machine to create a part of my title using Autumn Spice papers. Another thing I mixed up were the papers in my sunburst. In addition to using all the different papers, I also tucked Autumn Spice journaling cards to add depth of color and variation on shape in my burst. To finish things off I used my sewing machine to create the additional burst off the side and covered the center point up with a button to give it a finished look.
Supplies: Autumn Spice (Clove, Pumpkin Spice, Brown Sugar papers, Index Journal Cards, ABC Stickeres), Persnickety (Picky, Finicky papers)
I couldn't wait to see what Anna-Maria would come up with my sketch. I was blown away by her creative and artistic rendition of it. Here's a look:One of my favorite aspects of her pages are all the scribbles and tiny doodles that she puts on her work. This page in particular had me eyeing one little detail in the top left corner where she split the page, then has the tiny little piece of aqua peeking out. Absolutely stunning!
All of her details are so gorgeous, I could look at her pages for hours!
