Cards Wednesday with Patricia + Summer

Hello, Lily Bee fans. Patricia here today to share one of my favorite ways of adding a little extra detail to cards.  Stitching...both machine stitching for texture and hand stitching for more of a handmade look. 

The colors and the patterns of the Handmade collection were the inspiration of adding the “X” stitches in the corners and stitching around the heart.  With the zigzag and quilt patterns of the collection, it was a perfect compliment for hand stitching, giving it a very handmade, whimsical look.

For the second card, I hand stitched around one of the bits from the collection to make it stand out more.  The pop of red with the yellow gives the cool pink and green some warmth, with more of a clean and elegant look.

I’m excited to have Summer joining me today.  Take a look at how she added machine stitching to add texture to her cards. I just love that peek through the pattern paper to show the quilted paper with the sentiment.

By adding several rows of stitching, Summer created lots of texture for the base and focus point for her card. A beautiful way to show off the pattern papers from the Persnickety line.
