Happy Friday Lily Bee friends. Summer here today with a super fun Altered frame. I admit I don't do many altered projects so I often find myself browsing the isles of JoAnn's or Micheal's looking for that prefect piece to alter. That is how this project was born.
I found an unfinished wood frame at JoAnn's for just a couple dollars. I threw away the glass, backed the opening in white and went to work. I then spray painted the frame black and distressed the edges. This was the end result.
Supplies: Sweet Shoppe (Gumball, Strawberries & Cream, 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Embellishment Bundle, Chit-Chat Stickers), Victoria Park (Charcoal) and Double Dutch (Celery)
The layers of circles are perfect home for all the goodies you can find in the brand new Embellishment Bundles from Lily Bee. They say variety is the spice of life and the Embellishment Bundle is the perfect combination of decorative brads, buttons, flair and twine. I love how you get such a fantastic mix of product in one pack.
I hope you have enjoyed this altered frame. When you are sitting down next month to think about Father's Day remember this little project makes an awesome gift my husband has a couple of these on his desk at work.
Have a happy and safe weekend.

Our super fabulous guest designer, Paige Evans, is back with us again today to share two great cards she made using our Sweet Shoppe and Pinwheel collections.
Happy Birthday Card
How to: Punch starbursts from an assortment of papers from the Sweet Shoppe and Pinwheel collections and arrange them evenly spaced across a cream cardstock card base. Stitch double circles around three of the starbursts. Add a pink "happy birthday" sticker to an aqua label sticker, place a bow tied with gray baker's twine at the top, and adhere the embellishment on the right edge; trim any excess.
Supplies: Sweet Shoppe Collection (Gumball 12x12 paper - SSP283, Candy Stick 12x12 paper - SSP294, Jujube 12x12 paper - SSP291, Pink Mint 12x12 paper - SSP290, Salt Water Taffy 12x12 paper - SSP288, Licorice Whip 12x12 paper - SSP287, Cotton Candy 12x12 paper - SSP285, Lemon Drop 12x12 paper - SSP284, Chit Chat Stickers - SSS299, Label Stickers - SSS297), Pinwheel Collection (Brad, Badge, Button & Baker's Bundle - PWB315)
Thanks Card
How to: Stitch a double border with white thread around a dark gray cardstock card base. Punch squares from the Pinwheel collection, fold the opposite corners of each square in to create a diamond, then arrange the diamonds across the card base in three rows. Layer label stickers, letter stickers, a flower fabric brad, and red striped button on the right edge to create a focal point and sentiment.
Supplies: Pinwheel Collection (Flip-Flops 12x12 paper - PWP311, Cherry Blossom 12x12 paper - PWP303, Jump Rope 12x12 paper - PWP308, Lemonade Stand 12x12 paper - PWP302, Cart Wheels 12x12 paper - PWP312, Picnic Basket 12x12 paper - PWP305, Flower Box 12x12 paper - PWP313, Sprinklers 12x12 paper - PWP307, Kite Strings 12x12 paper - PWP306, Ice Cream Truck 12x12 paper - PWP310, Apricot Tree 12x12 paper - PWP304, Lime Rickey 12x12 paper - PWP309, Brad, Badge, Button & Baker's Bundle - PWB315, Label Stickers - PWS316, Chit Chat Stickers - PWS318, Letter Stickers - PWS317)
WOW, these cards have knocked our socks off! I just love that Paige is not afraid of adding a little (or a lot) of pattern paper. Thanks so much for sharing these fabulous cards with us today, Paige.
Make sure to come back next Thursday to see the amazing layout Paige made about her little boy's adventures with sticks...

Hello and welcome to another edition of Cards on Wednesday.
So far this week our designers have shared some incredible ideas on how to use the brand new Embellishment Bundles. The bundle includes so many fun embellishments all on one card- brads, buttons, badges and twine!
Today me and Lisa Dickinson will share some ideas of how to use these items on cards.
We'll start first with Lisa's cards:
Supplies: Destination (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Embellishment Bundle, Label Stickers)
Lisa carried over the circle motif from the Destinations collection paper by using badges and buttons on her card. This adds such a fun touch and lots of texture to the card.
When I first saw Lisa's cards I thought of how smart she was to create two cards using the same basic card design. Often times when we need a card we need it quickly and don't have time to muss and fuss with the details of coming up with an idea. She made these cute cards and kept each one fresh by using different papers and embellishments. I need to try this idea more often when I am in a hurry and need a card for someone.
Supplies: Sweet Shoppe (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Embellishment Bundle, Label Stickers)
Aren't her cards fantastic?
I also created a couple of cards using these new embellishments and really like the dimension that they add to a project.
Supplies: Destination (Embellishment Bundle, 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Circle and Tag Stickers, Letter Stickers, Chipboard Stickers)
For this first card I used two circle punches of slightly different sizes and punched some holes in my card base. I backed the holes with larger circles of patterned paper and then added a button, brad and some chipboard circles to continue the circle theme on the card. I added the label sticker backed with foam adhesive to add some variety in the shape and additional dimension to the card.
Supplies: Pinwheel (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Embellishment Bundle), Persnickety (Index Journaling Card).
To create the background for the card I cut a piece of cardstock slightly smaller than my cardbase and added strips of random widths. I trimmed down an index journaling card from the Persnickety collection and then used some little sentiments cut from the word bubble paper and added bits from the Embellishment Bundle to finish it off.
Thank you for visiting the blog today.
Have a wonderful day and please check back the rest of the week for more ideas on how to use the new Embellishment Bundles.

Good morning Lily Bee fans! This week, our designers are going to feature one of our new products from winter 2013 CHA - the new Embellishment Bundle!
Each of Lily Bee's new collections - Sweet Shoppe, Pinwheel and Destination - have their own Embellishment bundle - brad, badges, buttons and baker's twine!
There are a lot of options all packed into one with this fun new embellishment set. Each of the three elements work really well together on a page - and each collection does too!
I created this page using these three Embellishment Bundles:
Supplies: Destination (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Port Paper, Embellishment Bundle, Chit Chat Stickers, Label Stickers, Circles & Tag Stickers, Letter Stickers); Pinwheel (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Lemonade Stand Paper, Embellishment Bundle, Chit Chat Stickers, Label Stickers, Circles & Tag Stickers, Letter Stickers); Sweet Shoppe (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Letter Stickers, Circles & Tags Stickers), Autumn Spice (clear stamps)
You can see that each of the different elements in the Embellishment Bundle work well together, and also they would on their own too:
The fabric brads are one of my favorites - they add such a nice texture to the page!
Each of the 3 embellishments are just the right size for layering - instead of adding a punched circle - add a button, brad or badge! The baker's twine is nice and sturdy too and can easily be threaded through the buttons.
Thanks for stopping by the Lily Bee blog today and prepare to be inspired by our designers this week with all their takes on this fun NEW Lily Bee product!

Happy Friday, Lily Bee fans! Christine here today to show you some Project Life pages I made using the Destination and Sweet Shoppe Collections!
I just happen to be on Week 16 of my Project Life, which included a short road trip to San Francisco. I knew that the Destination collection would be perfect for it in my Project Life album. I also had some photos of homemade ice cream and some friends over for dinner, which made Sweet Shoppe a must-use for me. )
This is my 3rd year doing Project Life and I have a pretty easy going philosophy this year. I don't try to keep up. If I don't get to it for a couple of weeks, I just start with the current week and get to the previous weeks if I can. If I don't I'm not too worried. I love looking at my previous years' albums and I figured any pages I get done is awesome. I also don't use weekly title pockets to show what week it is, because I just want my album to be continuous and I don't want to HAVE to do a 2-page spread per week. This is how I'm making Project Life work for me this year and it is much more enjoyable and less stressful!
For this week's pages, I used a lot of Lily Bee Chit Chat, label, and Circle & Tag stickers right on top of my photos. I love the little touches they add to the page.
Lily Bee Supplies: Sweet Shoppe Collection (Jelly Bean paper, Licorice Whip paper, Marshmallow paper, Label stickers, Chit Chat stickers, Circle & Tag stickers), Persnickety Collection (ABC Stickers)
I used a lot of patterned papers to make journal cards in this page. Below I cut out a 3x4 piece of patterned paper and used a 2.5" square punch to punch out a window to look like a polaroid. Then I mounted it on top of white cardstock and wrote my journaling.
I hand-cut the banner out of the Sweet Shoppe Jelly Bean paper to make this journal card.
At the end of the week we went on a road trip to San Francisco, so I used the right side to document that.
Lily Bee Supplies: Destination Collection (Atlas paper, Luggage paper, Tickets paper, Postcard paper, Passport paper, 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Embellishment Bundle, Circle & Tag stickers, Chit Chat stickers, Label stickers, Letter stickers)
I created a title for this side because all the photos are about our road trip to San Francisco. I love using the label sticker to stamp the dates!
I took little leaflets from the places we ate at. They fit perfectly into the 3x4 slots with some patterned paper backing.
I used a circle tag sticker on top of a circle-punched patterned paper and centered it right onto my photo collage.
I loved using these versatile Lily Bee Design products in my Project Life pages! Each collection made my pages come together easily.
Have a great weekend!

Kit clubs are such a wonderful way to get the latest and greatest selection of scrapbooking papers and embellishments delivered to your door each month. Lily Bee Design works with many kits clubs so we thought it would be fun to create a new Kit Club Feature here on the blog to highlight them.
I'm excited to introduce you to our first Featured Kit Club. I've worked with Scrapbook Circle for several years now and owner, Lisa, has a great eye for pairing the right color combos, patterns and embellishments together each month while keeping on top of the latest trends. The design team gallery for each month's kit serves as a great source of inspiration, delivering creativity to you daily. Here's a little more about Scrapbook Circle:
We love creating monthly kits and feel lucky that we've been able to create kits for the past seven years! One of our favorite things about our kits is that it gives us an opportunity to interact with so many creative and fun people. We also love the challenge of packing as much as possible into each kit with products that we can't wait to use ourselves. We create exclusive Scrapbook Circle products like printables, tags and flair that you can only find in our kits. Thanks to Lily Bee for always creating products that we can't wait to share in our kits.
The Scrapbook Circle May kit, My Favorite, includes a great variety of collections, including papers and embellishments from our Destination collection.
The May Add-on, Sugar & Spice, pairs the Lily Bee Embellishment Pinwheel Bundle – including 4 Fabric Brads, 3 Wooden Buttons, 3 Metal Badges and 5 Yards of Twine - with other great kit embellishments.

Hi Everyone! Cindy and I have some Mother's Day card inspiration for you today.
Cindy created this stunning and striking card. She was drawn to a sentiment she found on a card at the local Hallmark store. Printed it on the card and created her simple design around it. She used the white background as her canvas so the small colorful details would pop, and for a little added texture, she embossed the small hearts layered with the large red hearts. I love look of the two contrasting patterns.
Supplies: (Pinwheel: Picnic Basket, Apricot Tree, Ice Cream Truck & Letter Stickers; Sweet Shoppe: Label Stickers; Buttercup: ABC Cardstock Stickers)
I decided to make two cards, one that is cute and one that is more traditional. The first one uses these adorable elephants I cut with my Silhouette. I love how the pattern papers from the 6x6 tiny tablets are smaller. They added so much texture to the elephants. I kept the design simple, so I stamped a repeating phrase on the background for the sentiment (I <3 U Mom) in a light color. I think this would be a cute card for a new Mom or for a child to give.
Destination (6x6 Tiny Tablet), Pinwheel (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Embellishment Bundle), Sweet Shoppe (6x6 Tiny Tablet)
For this card, I cut out a shaped card and layered another piece of pattern paper a little smaller on top. Stitched around the base of the card. Using my Silhouette again, I cut a doily and leaves to place under the chipboard flower. Added a border punch from the Destination collection to bring the eye to the Sentiment. And added a label, chipboard button and twine to finish it off.
Sweet Shoppe (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Label Stickers, Chipboard Stickers), Pinwheel (Embellishment Bundle), Destination (6x6 Tiny Tablet)
Thank you for joining me and Cindy today. Happy Mother's Day to everyone!Posted at 02:00 AM in 6x6 Tiny Tablet, ABC Stickers, Cards, Chipboard Stickers, Destination Collection, Embellishment Bundle, Label Stickers, Letter Stickers, Mother's Day, Pinwheel, Sewing/Stitching, Spring, Stamping, Sweet Shoppe | Permalink | Comments (3)

Happy Tuesday Lily Bee friends and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LILY BEE DESIGN OWNER & DESIGNER, KRISTEN! We're wishing you a fabulous day, spoiled by your precious boys!
Adrienne, Leslie, and I are excited to share a new sketch with you this week and show you how we used it for our layouts incorporating this week's theme: Moms & Mommihood!
This is the sketch we used:
First up, here's what Adrienne had to say about her layout: "I was really inspired by Wendy's sketch and how the photos took center stage. I swapped out one of the photo spots for an embellished square that directs the eye towards my journaling. I cut out the "details" arrow from the Flip Flops patterned paper and popped it up with some foam adhesive to give it some extra dimension. I also used a variety of letter stickers for my long title to give it some color and I added a few pops of black throughout my page to help bring it all together."
And here is Adrienne's awesome layout:
And some of the fun details:
Supplies Used: Sweet Shoppe (Lemon Drop, Licorice Whip, Letter Stickers, Label Stickers, Chipboard Stickers), Pinwheel (Cherry Blossom, Jump Rope, Flip Flops, Chit Chat Stickers, Letter Stickers, 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Chipboard Stickers, Circle and Tag Stickers), Destination (Chipboard Stickers, Embellishment Bundle)
Next up, Leslie! Here's what Leslie said about her layout: "-first up, I just wanted to say a little bit about why these pictures of my great niece, Presley mean the world to me. If you’ll notice in my journaling, I tell a short story about my title, what this sweet girl means to me & how her mom, at the tender age of 19 years old – fought and WON the courageous battle of stage 2A Hodgkins Lymphoma. After her intense treatment of chemo & radiation, she was told she could never have children. But as you can see – she was blessed. She was blessed which made us ALL blessed. Especially me. Aunt “Lala” about the sketch - I changed up the sketch a bit by adding another layer of squares & using 3 photos with 3 patterned papers. I had A LOT to journal about this layout so I made specific room to the left to tell my story."
And here's Leslie's gorgeous page:
And some close-ups of the details:
Supplies: Pinwheel (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Circle & Tag Stickers, Chit Chat Stickers), Destination (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Circle & Tag Stickers, Brad Badge Button & Baker Bundle, Chipboard Stickers, Letter Stickers, Boy Voyage Paper, Luggage Paper), Sweet Shoppe (Chit Chat Stickers, Licorice Whip Paper)
And finally, here's my layout based on the sketch I created:
I always have a hard time sticking to a sketch exactly...even when they are my own sketches! This one also took on a life of it's own once I got started, but I think that's okay - sketches aren't set in stone, it's just a matter of finding a starting point! Here are a few of the details:
Supplies: Sweet Shoppe (Gumball, Licorice Whip, Salt Water Taffy, Marshmallow, Pink Mint, Candy Stick, Chipboard Stickers, Embellishment Bundle, Chit Chat Stickers, Circles & Tags, ABC Stickers)
We'd love to have you join us - how will you interpret the sketch?
We'll pick one winner from all our challenge entries this month to win a Lily Bee prize package. Here's a few things to keep in mind:
- Your layout must use mainly Lily Bee products (approx. 50% - 60% older or newer lines to showcase Lily Bee Design).
- Post your layout to our Facebook Page or Flickr Gallery to be eligible for monthly challenge prize.
- Title your post "5/7 Sketch Challenge" so we can find it easily and then leave a comment on this blog post letting us know you've entered.
- Deadline is May 31, 2013, Midnight CST
- One winner from all the challenges will be announced in next month's Kristen's News feature.
The more you play, the better your chances of winning!

Hello and welcome to a brand new week here at Lily Bee. This week we are focusing on moms, whether it be our mom, being a mom or anything else related to that. We are grateful for all of the women who have had an influence for good in our lives- moms, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, teachers, friends and on and on. We hope you'll be inspired this week as we celebrate these wonderful women and the blessing of being a mom.
To start off today we have a fantastic page from Diana Fisher.
She shares, "As a mom, there is nothing better than watching your child love and succeed in something they are passionate about. It makes you feel like you've done your job in raising them to be at their best at all times. I love watching my son play baseball. You can see the intensity on his face and he is so excited to play or practice. I love watching him get better with each game, and knowing that I have a part in raising him to be amazing makes me very proud."
Supplies: Pinwheel (Flower box, Sprinklers, Cart wheels, Chipboard stickers, Circle & Tag stickers, Chit chat stickers, Brad, Badge, Button & Baker's Bundle, Letter Stickers, Label Stickers.
I really like how Diana used a variety of embellishments on her page yet still managed to keep it nice and clean. Here are some more cute details using the new Chit Chat and label stickers:
I really like how Diana added her title stickers right on top of her photo. I tend to be hesitant to do so just in case for some reason I might change my mind. Diana has inspired me to try it, though! I really like the effect on her layout.
For those who might not know this about me, I have four daughters. I was raised in a family with six girls, me being the second oldest. We don't have even one brother, and out of all of our kids there is one single boy. We seriously considered throwing a parade in my sister's honor for having the first boy. My husband likes to tease me that the genes in our family are too strong and overpower the ability to have boys! Ha ha! I think it's kind of funny.
Anyway, for our Focus on Moms feature I wanted to create a layout about my four sweet girls:
Supplies: Sweet Shoppe (Marshmellow, 6x6 Tiny Tablet), Persnickety (6x6 Tiny Tablet, Index Journaling Cards), Destination (6x6 Tiny Tablet), Pinwheel (Letter Stickers, Label Stickers, Circle & Tag Stickers, Chit Chat Stickers).
I have learned so much from these girls and am so proud to be their mom. I think that they teach me far more than I do for them. What a wonderful blessing they are to me.
I really like the new alphabet stickers and think it's fun to mix up the colors and sizes on my projects. Here I've mixed up the stickers with some diecuts made with my Cameo.
The heart bokeh paper from the Sweet Shoppe is one of my favorites from the new releases. It was the perfect backdrop for this page. I mixed in some Persnickety and bits and pieces of Destination and Pinwheel as well. I really like that you can mix the collections together.
Make sure to come back every day this week for even more inspiration celebrating Moms.
Before we go, we had a ton of fun with you on National Scrapbook Day. Thanks so much for spending part of your day tagging your Instagram friends and answering questions on Facebook! We have a few rnadomly drawn winners! If your name is listed below, please send an email with NSD Winner in the subject line to heather@lilybeedesign.com.

It's the first Thursday of the month and that means it's time to showcase our May guest designer. I am over the moon excited to welcome someone who I've been fortunate enough get to know and adore. Paige Evans has a great eye for design and has a way of mixing patterns like you wouldn't believe. You'll get to see for yourself throughout the month but first let's get to know a little about Paige.
My very first job when I was 16 years old (12 years ago now) was at a local scrapbooking store in Redmond, WA called Yesterdays. I've been addicted to scrapping ever since! Sometimes I think about what my life would be like now if I hadn't walked in and asked for an application (which they didn't have, they just took my phone number!) because so much of my life has revolved around scrapbooking since then... I work full-time from home for Northridge Publishing (the makers of Scrapbook Trends/CARDS/Simply Handmade/Bead Trends/Cricut/Cricut Idea Books/Create: Idea Books) and I also have the fun and amazing job of being the American Crafts Blog Hostess/Design Team Coordinator. Aside from scrapbooking I love spending time with my husband of six years, Chris, playing with our two-and-a-half-year-old son Fox and 9 month old baby girl Jane. I love to create on a daily basis and enjoy dabbling in everything from fine arts (painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, etc.), to bookbinding, basketweaving, photography, graphic design, and more!
Q&A with Paige:
What is your favorite Lily Bee Design product and why? I love the Brad, Badge, Button & Baker’s Bundle – what more could you need for embellishing? The texture of the brads, the dimension of the badges and buttons, and the string that can be used in so many ways is just awesome.
Where do you find your inspiration? From layouts that people to submit to the magazines I work for, galleries like TwoPeas, Studio Calico, and Pinterest!
What is your favorite subject to scrapbook about? This one is easy – my sweet son and darling daughter!
What is your favorite technique that you like to use on cards or layouts? I love including lots of different patterned papers! The more I can fit, the merrier!
So let's see how Paige worked our new Pinwheel pattern papers and embellishments...
RIGHT NOW by Paige Evans
Journaling says: This picture was taken on Easter Sunday 2013 before we headed to church. Just a snapshot of our little family. Chris holding Fox and Paige holding Jane. We are a happy family!
How to: Lightly distress the edges of a blue cardstock background. Punch 3" squares from each patterned paper in the Pinwheel collection and trim them into triangles again and again until you have a bunch of sizes. Place a photo on the top left side of the background and arrange the triangles around the photo. Embellish the photo with three patterned buttons, a sentiment pennant sticker, and number stickers. Place label stickers on the edges of the layout, trim the excess, and stamp the date on the left one and write journaling on the right ones. Attach a fabric brad on the left and right edges, connect them with a piece of gray baker's twine, and staple the twine in place. Drop black spray mist around the layout.

Hi everyone! Diane here today to share a couple cards for our Great Outdoor theme week. One of my favorite things about being outdoors is the warmth of the sun so I decided to create a couple cards with fun sun phrases.
I have always loved the "Hello Sunshine" phrase so on this card I thought it would be fun to have a rising sun. To complete the scene on my card I added punched clouds and butterflies.
Supplies: Pinwheel (Pinwheel Circle & Tags Stickers PWS-341), Memorandum (9 to 5-MEP128, Whiteboard-MEP129, Office Blue-MEP176, Lemon-Mep177), Happily Lost (Hammock-HLP0087, Sun Soaked-HLP0090)
On this next card I wanted to create a bold, dimensional sun that would really stand out.
I cut the sun out using my Silhouette Cameo with white cardstock and again, three more times in a larger size, each with a different pattern. I alternated the sun rays on the bottom layer with the 3 different patterns and placed the smaller white sun, sprayed with shimmery mist on top. To finish it off I added the Smile flair and the title "You Shine!"
Supplies: Pinwheel (6x6 Tiny Tablet-PWC319, Letter Stickers-PWS317), Sweet Shoppe (Embellishment Bundle-SSB296, Letter Stickers-SSS296)
I love taking a theme and incorporating it into my projects. It really challenges me to think outside the box and now I have two cards full of sunshine, ready to brighten a friend's day.
